Memories of Jeff Snipes
Jeffrey Snipes, Sept. 23, 1959 to July 20, 2009, passed away at Spartanburg Regional Hospice House following a long battle with cancer. Jeff is survived by his wife of 25 years, Kim, and his children, Katy and Jake.
He is also survived by his parents: Joda and Lucretia Snipes of Belton; two brothers: Shanon and Daryl; and four much loved nephews: Zack, Josh, Taylor and Sam.
He graduated from Belton Honea Path High School and Furman University.
He was a coach and athletic director for his entire career. He coached at Furman University, North Carolina State University and Boiling Springs High School. His greatest pleasure came from working with young people and helping them to reach their full potential. He was a member of the 1978 team who succeeded in attaining Furman's first Southern Conference championship. He was also a team captain of the 1980 Southern Conference championship team.
Jeff was blessed to have an amazing collection of friends and family members.
